Do you remember the retro skiing game, where the Yeti chased you? I have some vague memories of such a game from the past. It is called SkiFree and even has a dedicated page today. It’s a good free download if you want to relive some memories. But wait, what’s all this have to do with Downslope?
When I saw the first images from this brand new game, SkiFree is the exact thing that came into my mind. It is currently in development by Mind’s Eye Games, a one-man studio. The release date is ‘SOON’. I guess the developer is taking advice from Valve. If you want to follow the development, I recommend checking the official youtube channel.
The dev behind this game has one release so far on steam. It’s called Blast Brawl 2. Although the game does not have a ton of reviews, the reception is generally favourable.
Downslope alone, or with a friend
In Downslope, your main goal will be to keep riding down the mountain. The primary game mode of Downslope is called Descent. In this mode, you will keep going down the hill and mountain paths to unlock new trails.
Exploring new trails and going down the bumpy winter landscape sure sounds like fun. It looks both pleasing to the eye and challenging at the same time. Can’t wait to try it out for ourselves.
Snowboarding is an activity that we usually do with a group of friends in real-life. Why would this be different in the game? The solo developer on the project knows exactly how important friends are. He is working on the game, all the while keeping multiplayer in focus. You will be able to conquer the mountain with a friend in split-screen mode. We can imagine it will be a ton of fun to do some virtual snowboarding with friends.
You can wishlist the game on Steam.
